Cinema Bizarre dispute Tokio Hotel of the „Teenie-Crown“

Rock-attack on Tokio Hotel

It’s going to be though for Tokio Hotel: since 2005 Bill Kaulitz and his band mates are the number one of all teenie bands, wannabe rivals such as Killerpilze sprung up like mushrooms and were gone as fast as they appeared. Only Cinema Bizzare have what it takes to be more successful than Tokio Hotel.

They’re the most successful new German band abroad, their first album (2007) has been the best selling debut in Europe. In spring, the 5 Berliner with their new album want to dethrone their rivals from Magdeburg for good – but can they be successful? Our music department compared both bands with each other:

• Authenticity:
Tokio Hotel were the first German Visual Kei band, Cinema Bizarre copied the Japan-Gothic-Look – 1:0 for Tokio Hotel

• Outfit:
Cinema Bizarre are cool, but even the coolest shirts are nothing compared to Bill’s leather jacket – 2:0 for Tokio Hotel

• Singing:
Bill tries hard, but his voice is pretty thin. Cinema singer Strify is better off. 2:1 for Tokio Hotel.

• Success:
Tokio Hotel sold 80,000 copies of their debut “Schrei”, won the MTV award, Bambi & Echo and had 4 songs at the Ö3-charts – 3:1 for Tokio Hotel.

• Spirit of the time:
Bill & Co could sound “old” in 2009, Cinema Bizzare have a “freshness-bonus” – Result: 3:2 for Tokio Hotel
